The Department of Food Science and Technology, University of Kashmir, is immensely proud to announce that, Dr. Ifra Hassan have been awarded the prestigious National Post-Doctoral Fellowship (N-PDF) by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India. Dr. Ifra Hassan will pursue her post-doctoral research project titled "Engineering Bio-physical properties of 3D printed Hybrid Protein Matrices for Controlled Glucose release" at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hazratbal, under the mentorship of Prof. M. A. Shah. Dr. Ifra completed her PhD at the University of Kashmir under the guidance of Dr. Adil Gani. Under his guidance, she developed expertise in advanced food material engineering, electrospinning, bioactive encapsulation, and 3D food printing, while being encouraged to pursue innovative, interdisciplinary research addressing contemporary challenges in food science. Building on this strong research foundation, her postdoctoral work aims to develop next-generation functional foods with controlled digestion behaviour and predictable glycaemic response through the structural engineering of hybrid protein matrices using advanced 3D food printing. Her research is expected to contribute significantly to precision nutrition, diabetes management, and the development of smart food manufacturing technologies.
